The role of the
Architecture Team is crucial for the
project. It:
 |
defines and supervises
the interlinks between different components (tasks) of the
CrossGrid
project including the timing (overall progress will be conditioned by
timely delivery of some components),
|
 |
follows very closely
the development of the other Grid projects, to profit from their knowledge
and experience, and to use some of their results, and to allow for
integration on a global scale.
|
The activity of the Architecture Team
is concentrated
on:
 |
specification of the
CrossGrid architecture,
|
 |
merging of
requirements from WP1, WP2, and WP3,
|
 |
establishing standard
operational procedures,
|
 |
specification of the
structure of deliverables.
|
In daily operations the CrossGrid
Architecture Team interfaces with the
DataGrid project, to watch their
progress, gain experience, and gain access to necessary results at the
earliest opportunity. This team, being part of the CrossGrid management,
closely follows the DataGrid project, and informs the whole
collaboration on progress and delays, if relevant. In the case of a change
to the DataGrid schedule/deliverables, the management of the CrossGrid
project will analyse the situation and take necessary steps to overcome
difficulties, if they arise. The Architecture Team
fulfils an essential role in guaranteeing full interoperability between
the two projects.
