This data may also be generated by application and infrastructure monitoring systems. The security requirements are fulfilled with an additional communication overhead affecting efficiency of distributed applications. At the application development stage it is necessary to evaluate the influence of this overhead on the resource consumption and execution time of grid applications. This talk will present a simulation method that enables evaluation of the overhead as a function of the security level used. The goal is to enable developers to estimate resource consumption and execution time and adjust proper security level for an application. The method is based on a high level intuitive model of the application and resources. Simulation is enabled by transformation of the model to executable formalism capable to provide accurate results. In order to obtain reliable results the Timed Coloured Petri Nets are applied.
