Return on ICT Security Research

The growth of information and communication technologies (ICT) has
raised the stakes of security issues. The paradigm shift of security
requirements from the physical security to the data and information
security the computing sphere to the value added services has
considerably changed the way the security solutions are designed and
implemented. Nowadays, security is in the forefront of everyone's mind;
however, an important question is what is the return on the investments
made?
This talk will provide an insight into this issue from the
perspectives of different communities - researchers, businesses, and
end-users (general public). Case studies of various prominent security
solutions will be presented with the assessment of their impact on the
technological advancement and the consumer confidence.
