Daniel Harezlak ACC CYFRONET AGH "Web 2.0 - Technology and Possibilities" The last decade have showed that social networks have evolved to a global space, where people exchange experience and information on a daily bases. The technology behind the web interfaces allowed users to create, update and manage the contents of sites emerging new ways to build collaboration spaces. Further improvements brought innovative means to interactively react to user actions during an execution of distributed applications. In addition, ease of use and accessibility as well as many reliable standards make the web a strong candidate for the realization of a front-end graphical user interface. The talk will give an overview of the technologies which are currently available to web developers, including XHTML, SOAP, AJAX, XUL and RDF. Next, a few use cases presenting requirements from the point of view of Grid application users will be discussed. Among others, a use case of application execution together with data management will be discussed as an example of interactive communication with the end users. The last part of the talk will show an example of a framework that tries to fulfill the demands raised by the use cases and it will present the use of the technologies described in the first part of the talk. The last part of the presentation will show an example of a framework that tries to fulfill the demands raised by the use cases and present the use of the technologies described in the first part.
