Matthew Gagne Queens University, Kingston, Ontario (Canada) IAESTE student at the Institute of Computer Science AGH, Krakow "Performance Evaluation of Generic Monitoring Infrastructure (GEMINI)" The Generic Monitoring Infrastructure provides the ability to monitor applications as they run in real-time in a grid environment. The data it provides is important for performance analysis and understanding how the applications and services run and how their resources are utilized. The overhead associated with GEMINI is another interesting aspect of how the grid environment is affected and is the subject of this presentation. In this discussion we will investigate certain performance metrics which are key to understanding GEMINI during runtime. Throughput, latency and scalability and why they are important to GEMINI will be explained. An outline of the testing that has been conducted will be presented, as well as some preliminary results obtained. Discussion of future testing and methodology will also be reviewed.
